I'm new at freelance web development. How much you should think I would charge for a project?

I'm new at freelance web development. How much you should think I would charge for a project? Any formulas that you use would be good. Also if you can share how you charge for your works that would be good too. Thanks.

We have the same problem!

You know what I did? I went out and checked several web developers around malls, used the telephone when possible, and i listed down every detail that i heard from all these developers. (Something like canvassing, I even posted as a customer and told them my requirements for me to get an idea on their charging schemes) Eventually I collated all the information that I have gathered and based from this, I came up with my own pricing scheme that offer similar packages at lower prices in comparison to other professional developers. In other words, "Know your competitor!"

Try it out! This method also works for other forms of bussinesses.
Reply:Depends entirely on the complexity of the project.
Reply:I agree with the previous answer, it all depends on the website.

I am an ASP %26amp; PHP programmer and if i was creating a "back end" for a website to allow the owner to update certain aspects of the "front end" i would start the basic price @ 500 pounds then depending on what needed to be programmed i would add onto that cost.
