I want to work somewhere, but I'm wondering how fast I'll need to work.
How long does it take a web development team to finish a project on average?
Once we have the graphics and that is subjective to the client. We can create a non-ecomerce site without the clients content in one day. We provide our clients with our own CMS (content management system) so they can add their own images and text. For us to create an ecommerce site and we have all of the banking info in hand, you're looking at about two weeks.
We have been in business since 1993 so we are normally faster than most.
Reply:It depends on what the client wants on their website. My teacher says usually minimum two weeks.
Reply:There is not default timeframe for this. The time taken always depends on the type of project. If its simple web portal development using standard techniques it may take hardly few days may be 2-4 days.
But if its a security application like banking it may take months to complete because there will be rigorous testing involved right from the unit stage.
Reply:I worked in a dot-com and the thing wasn't done after 2 years, when we closed up shop.
Unless you're talking about a simple "presence" web page, it's never done. You'll always be making changes, fixes, additions, etc etc. Think of it this way -- M$ released service patches for Windows 98 until recently (maybe still is) -- why should your Web code be any different?
