How is the career market for web development in US?

Depends on the area you're in. I'm in an area of the US that has a lot of engineers, had a number of dot.coms that went bust, and had a number of programmers laid off, but web developers who knew their stuff were still able to do consulting work, working for small to medium sized companies updating and/or maintaining their web sites. I use to hang out with a bunch of consultants when I taught or coordinated web design, so I could keep up with the latest trends (1-2 years ago).

IDK get on a computer and you may find the info you are looking 4.....
Reply:It is very competitive and difficult to find permanent jobs. As a consultant or contractor, fairly easy. Many companies in the U.S.are outsourcing development because it is cheaper. Even outsourcing to India, as seen with call centers.

If you want a career in web development, you need to be knowledgable in .NET environments and its associated languages. C# and Ajax are the popular languages right now. Many content management systems are based on these languages. Java is another language that has been staying around because many companies are building their web apps in Java.
