READ: i need a website designed for an upcoming video game i am designing. i have basic html skill but, need a professional to design the website for me. so where is there a forum where i can find job listings type stuff to hire a web designer? it is, for now, slow pace and just a project. so, i hoping to get a non-paying designer or something cheap, as i cant afford to much.

You might want to give Rent-a-Coder a shot. It's as full-featured (and consequently, has the same learning curve) as learning eBay. It's actually similar to an auction, only in reverse. Post your project for free. Get incoming bids from designers and programmers. Pick the one with the lowest price or best feedback rating, or combination of the two.
The other really nice feature is that once a bid is accepted, nobody actually gets paid until EVERYBODY is happy with the work. (It's an escrow-type deal)

I have used GURU's website to find professionals to do specific jobs.
In my case, I needed to find a graphic designer to create a logo for me..and It was fast and easy..and not expensive...Reasonable price.
I also have 2 websites.
ps. The logos created by the person I hired at GURU.COM are not available for the public yet, since both my websites are under development.
