What is the best school in the U.S. and Canada for learning web development and design?

I'd like to know from businesses what web developer/designer/artist they are most likely to hire. What school is the best and what do they look for in their portfolio and skill set?

What is the best school in the U.S. and Canada for learning web development and design?
When I hire people for my business, the first thing I look for isn't what school they attended. I look at their portfolio for their creativity. You can learn the basics and advanced techniques from any community college or University. You don't have to attend a Technical School.

It only matters how creative you are and how well you read the audience. For example, you could have attended ITT and learned how to build websites. I want to have a site built that has to do with children's games, how will you put the site together? You have to make sure the site is user friendly, easily to navigate by users of that certain age group, and the colors and layout used.

It is the creativity of their portfolio that brings me to hire that person. I do not care where they attended.
Reply:That's really a personal decision and will vary.

For the graphical design aspect of web development, I like the following:

http://www.ccad.edu/

http://www.risd.edu/

http://www.scad.edu/

For the software engineering side, consider http://www.wustl.edu/.

There are many excellent choices, check out websites such as http://www.usnews.com/ to get other opinions.
